Valve CV Testing
Valves are characterized by their Cv, i.e. how many gallons of water they can pass through with one psi pressure drop.
This characteristic changes from one valve to another and with the opening of the valve.
Higher valve Cv values can be an advantage in reducing the power required for pumping fluids. Therefore, manufacturers tend to design valves with the highest possible Cv to overcome fluid friction.
Thermodyne Engineering Ltd. has the capability to conduct Cv tests on valves for all three applications:
- Water
- Steam
- Gases
Thermodyne Engineering Ltd. can perform such tests at ambient temperatures or at elevated temperatures. It also characterizes the valves for their Cv versus opening.
All tests are conducted strictly with ISO 9001-2015 Certified Quality Management System.
